What is your name and what is your field of activity at NCsoft?

How cute…

My name is Mirko and I’m responsible for the marketing activities in Europe for Aion: The Tower of Eternity. My daily job is split between implementing the marketing plan in the UK and supporting our local territory distributors with their marketing plans on which we agree together.

How did you come to NCsoft?

I was working at Vivendi Universal Games Italy as product manager for World of Warcraft and everything was too easy.

Moreover, I had the feeling I wasn’t really making any difference with my job and I wanted to challenge myself more. When I received a call from NCsoft asking if I would be interested in working with them I thought: “that might be interesting” but after the meeting with them I was so excited that it took me less then three hours to decide to move to the UK and work with them.

What are you working on presently?

I have two big projects on my plate at the moment. I’m working on increasing the visibility and the success of Lineage II – The Chaotic Throne: The Kamael in Europe and I’m working together with the Aion Develop Studio, the PR team and the Community team on the Aion marketing plan.

What do you like most at your job?

I like the people at NCsoft. We are the kind of company which should be on the “best company to work for” list. NCsoft has more than 120 staff from a number of European countries; it’s an open space environment so when you walk around the office you can hear people speaking in English, French, German, Spanish, Polish and Italian of course.

What is your favourite NCsoft title and why?

My favourite NCsoft game is Lineage II. Even though it’s a 4 year old game, I’m having so much fun playing PvP and, with the latest expansion, the Lineage II Develop Team introduced a new playable race (The Kamael) so I’ve started from the beginning.

What other game genres (except MMOs) are you interested in and what are your favourites?

I’m a big Nintendo fan. I played Super Mario Bros since I was 14 years old and I’m still playing Nintendo’s Games. I recently bought an Xbox 360 and I’m playing CoD4, Rainbow 6 and Skate.

What is your favourite TV show or series? What are your favourite films?

I don’t watch TV so I don’t have a favourite series but I have lots of favourite films. Well, mostly cartoons to be honest, like Monster Inc, Shrek, Cars and Toy Story but also some proper movies like The Sixth Sense, Gladiator, The Green Mile.

Do you like reading? If yes, what kind of books do you have in your bookcase?

Yes, I like reading. My idol is Terry Brooks and I’ve read almost all his books from the Shannara series. Generally speaking, I like all fantasy books.

What are you doing in your spare time?

It really depends on the weather (so you can imagine here in UK how it varies!) but if it’s sunny I usually skate or go out and take pictures. If it’s rainy (there’s nothing in the middle ) I hang out with friend in pubs or I play videogames.

McDonald’s or Burger King?

McDonalds for burgers and Burger King for chips.

Coca Cola or Pepsi?

Pepsi??? What is it? Coca Cola FTW!

If you would have one year free time and enough money: Where would you spend your time and what would you do?

I think I would go to a quiet place where I can fish, surf and relax… well, I would take my girl too of course.
